Mercedes-Benz has been teasing us with their high-performance AMG-version of the third-generation A Class model for quite a while and not they might actually be putting it into production. They’ve confirmed the new A45 AMG luxury vehicle, which will be one of three new compact models developed by the German automaker targeted at their Audi RS3 and BMW M135i competitors at the under-$100k price tag level across Europe. Under the hood of the A45 AMG will be a new twin-turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine capable of pumping out at least 330 hp. It will also include a MacPherson strut suspension up-front and a multi-link set-up in the rear, along with a wider wheelbase, stiffer springs, and updated brakes. The A45 will go on sale in Europe early next year, with no plans for any shipments to the U.S.
