Sport Auto’s test drive editor Christian Gebhardt gets behind the wheel of a couple of Chevy Corvettes: 2012 Corvette ZR1, Z06 Centennial Edition and the Grand Sport. According to Gebhardt, the 2012 ZR1 can “achieve a very fast lap time of 1.08,3 min on the small circuit at Hockenheim and is faster than nearly all supercars over the last years. The ZR1 beats for example Porsche 911 GT2 RS, Carrera GT, GT3 RS 3.8 & 4.0, Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4, McLaren MP4-12C, Audi R8 GT, Lexus LFA Nürburgring Edition and more.” The 2012 Z06 with Z07-Ultimate Performance Package did a a lap time of 1.08,7 min.
