McLaren announced its MP4-12C Can-Am GT will now be put into limited production, which was first unveiled at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance as a design study. McLaren GT developed the Can-Am GT, which is a more extreme, track-focused version of its road-going brother. New updates for this version include lightweight parts and an aggressive new aerodynamic package that increases downforce by 30 percent. Under the hood is a 630-hp engine, making it the most powerful MP4-12C to date. The interior sports a FIA-approved race spec full rollcage, six-point harnesses and a racing wheel taken from the McLaren GT3 Racer. The track-only Can-Am GT isn’t regulated for road use and only 30 units will be produced, starting at about $600,000.
