Sony has expanded its in-car entertainment line with the introduction of a new double-DIN CD-receiver, WX-GT90BT, featuring Sony-exclusive App remote technology, combining consumers’ car audio music assets and smartphone apps into a single source list that can be controlled from the car audio system or compatible smartphone.
The new WX-GT90BT CD-receiver is used with Sony’s App Remote app for USB-connected iPhones® and Bluetooth® connected Android™ phones. Once downloaded to the compatible smartphones, the apps turns connected smartphones into touchscreen remotes and consumers can launch their favorite smartphone app on the App Remote user interface. This App Remote is free of charge for Apple App Store and Google Play members, and subject to the app’s terms and conditions.Drivers no longer have to go back-and-forth between the car audio system and smartphone to access a favorite tune. Music information such as album artwork is displayed on the smartphone screen, while incoming text messages can be read aloud on Android phones through the car’s speakers for ultimate driving convenience.
In addition, a new GS Series 8-inch subwoofer, XS-GS80LS, was also unveiled. The Sony Mobile Electronics booth will be located in the North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center, at CES booth number #1409.
Customers who want to use the double-DIN space as an audio solution in-dash board now can with the new WX-GT90BT CD-receiver, which provides a bigger display and easy-to-use key buttons for safety operation while driving.
Integrated Bluetooth® Technology
Bluetooth is built-in to the new WX-GT90BT CD-receiver. In addition to Bluetooth hands free calling, the head unit supports a complete music streaming experience, allowing wireless playback, track control, and display of song information from Bluetooth enabled MP3 players or smartphones.
Versatile front USB 1-wire input cable
Connect, control and charge your Walkman®, iPod®, iPhone, Android, Blackberry®, or other compatible USB devices while accessing your digital music files using the front panels USB input. Listeners can also view metadata such as song title and artist on the front display.
Pandora® Internet Radio Control
Sony continues to integrate control of Pandora® internet radio into its new receivers. The Pandora-ready units let consumers listen to and control Pandora streaming content through connected iPhone, Android, and Blackberry phones. Drivers will experience richer sound and customizable audio settings with Sony’s Advanced Sound Engine.
The systems are also SiriusXM-Ready™, using the new SXV200 SiriusXM Connect Vehicle Tuner Kit (sold separately, SiriusXM subscription required). The new SXV200V1 is the first SiriusXM Vehicle Tuner that receives an expanded channel lineup from SiriusXM with exclusive programming, providing more commercial-free music, plus sports and comedy, including SiriusXM Latino, 20 channels of the most comprehensive Latin programming lineup available to radio listeners, featuring 10 exclusive commercial-free music channels.
The WX-GT90BT receiver will be available in March for about $199 at Sony Stores, online at www.sony.com/car, and throughout the Sony Authorized Dealer Network nationwide.

The new Specialty Exclusive GS Series 8-inch XS-GS80LS subwoofer offers high power output and superior sound quality featuring MRC Honeycomb diaphragm, which realizes high rigidity for powerful bass with low distortion.
