The 2013 Shelby 1000 S/C has been announced and is said to go for $299,990 and will offer more than 1,000 hp. Last May, introduced the 2012 Ford Shelby GT500-based 1000 model which offered 950 hp, with Shelby American saying that 40 to 50 customers purchased the car but all of them opted for the S/C variant since it produced 1,200 hp (but wasn’t street legal). The upcoming model can be driven on the streets and offers more than 1,000 hp thanks to its 5.8-liter borrowed from the 2013 Ford Shelby GT500. Other upgrades include a new 4.0-liter supercharger, new rods, pistons and rings, as well as a more efficient cooling system and a different fuel system with new injector. The 6-speed manual gearbox has also been revised. The pic above is actually of the 2012 Shelby 1000 and it’ll be make its debut at the New York Auto Show.
