Last week, Galpin Auto Sports (aka GAS) unveiled their “Gimmie the Gig” Ford Focus, which is a one-of-a-kind, fully custom studio on wheels. And the crazy part about about the build was that GAS was able to do it all using stock audio equipment already featured in the Focus. To demonstrate the capabilities of the state-of-the-art recording studio inside the Focus, the local L.A. band Magnolia Memoir belted out a few tunes. The in-car studio features everything an artist/band would need to record, including a mixing board and computer holder built into the center console. A bunch of new photos have surfaces of Bentley’s new V8 Continental GT and GTC. Said to be priced around $200,00, the new entry-level models of the Continental range feature a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engines that are way more fuel- efficient compared to Bentley’s flagship 6.0-liter W12 model, which allows the new models to travel more than 500 miles on a single tank of fuel. With 500 bhp, the new models accelerate from 0-62 mph in 4.8 seconds and can reach a top speed of 188 mph. There are also a few exterior changes, including a glossy black grille with chrome frame and center bar, a red enamel Bentley “B” badge, and a black mesh three-segment front bumper fascia.

Jeep will release its Wrangler Mountain at the Geneva Motor Show, with the special edition vehicle starting to arrive at European dealerships in the second quarter of 2012. Designed to “stand out,” the Wrangler Mountain features hood decals, a Mineral Gray grille. a black fuel-filler door, side steps and 17-inch alloy wheels. There are two engine options, including a 2.8-liter turbo diesel producing 197 hp and a 3.6-liter V6 that pushes out 280 hp.

There’s been speculation since 2012 as to what Mercedes-Benz will create for their all-new SL63 AMG and now they’ve finally revealed what the 2013 model will have. It’ll feature the familiar M157 twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V8 engine that produces 529bhp and weigh 242 pounds lighter thanks to its all-aluminum bodyshell and assorted magnesium components. The combination of the two allows the new SL63 AMG to achieve a 0-62 mph in just in 4.3 seconds (4.2 seconds with the AMG Performance Pack).

It can reach highway speeds on land and 30+ mph on water all while being able to carry up to 15 passengers or 1,500 kg of cargo. It also boasts 500 hp and selectable four-wheel-drive. The vehicle is designed to be the future for many amphibious purposes, including for first responders and rescue.

Prindiville Design released its Land Rover Defender Limited Edition that’s based on the latest Defender 90 Hard Top model, with only 25 units available. It features a power boost to its 2.4-liter turbo-diesel engine thanks to a high flow intercooler and turbocharger, which cranks up horsepower from 122 to 190. It can spring from 0-60 mph in 10 seconds and the London-based tuner provider customer with a choice of either a six-speed manual transmission or for an automatic or tiptronic gearbox. They’ve also provided the vehicle with a revised suspension, high-performance brakes, and 18-inch alloy wheels. Exterior changes include LED lights, chrome rocker bars and a titanium sports exhaust system. For the inside, there are Italian leather sport seats, Alcantara upholstery and new center console.

The Kahn Q7 puts the wide track Audi Q7 with some added extra exterior and interior perfections. The Q7 Kahn exterior package features numerous transformations, such as vented front replacement wings, front bumper sections with gunmetal grey detailing, rear vented bumper, large upper roof wing, wide wheel arches with rear vented spats, replacement wings, LED daytime running lights, Kahn stainless steel exhaust system, liquid gold calipers and mirror backs finished in gunmetal grey. For its shoes, the Q7 sits on 22-inch Kahn RSX wheels that are finished in gunmetal gray. But the Kahn Q7 also provides lots of performance with its 3.0-liter TDI diesel that pushes out 233 bph, accelerating it from rest to 60 mph in 8.4 seconds. The interior has been upgraded, providing more luxury with the front and rear seats in black quilted perforated Nappa leather with red stitching along with a speedo and rev counter in red and cream.

Tony Hawk and a group of pro athletes joined about 300 city officials and local youth on this past Saturday Saturday for the grand opening of the Ernest McBride Skatepark in Long Beach, California. The Poly High neighborhood, where the skatepark is located, didn’t have many recreational opportunities are available for its young kids, so the new 10,000-square-foot skate plaza will now change all that. It’s actually considered by local leaders as the area’s best chance to keep kids active, healthy, and safe from gangs and crime. After a few brief speeches, Hawk and fellow celebrity skaters Geoff Rowley, Ron Chatman, Riley Hawk, Danny Gonzalez, Daewon Song, Chad Tim Tim, Clive Dixon, and Danny Montoya, plus BMXers Aaron Ross, Dakota Roche, and Gabe Brooks ripped through the park, demonstrating its potential before being joined by the hundreds of local youth who were keen to have their turn.

Mattel will be producing Back to the Future Part II replica hoverboards that were inspired by the scene where Marty uses to elude Biff and his crew of thugs. The move accurate replica will even include the hole that was left when Marty ripped out the handlebar pole. But the sad part is it won’t hover, but only “glide” over most surfaces and that doesn’t include water. Mattel is taking pre-orders from March 1st through March 20th, with delivery scheduled for November or December 2012, BUT only if they meet a minimum number of orders since it’s pretty pricy to produce. There’s not word on pricing yet, though, with more info coming later this month.
