2011 DUB Show: Ocean City Recap
Table of contents

On Saturday, August 13th, Ocean City, MD, received its fill of the DUB lifestyle, as the 2011 DUB Show Tour rolled through the city, bringing the best in cars, music and more! All the action went down at the Ocean City Convention Center from 10 am to 10 pm—which was our longest stop of the tour—so you know there was a lot to see.
Not only was the inside of the Convention Center jam packed, but there were more than 200 cars competing outside with even a small concert stage that featured performances by local artists hosted by OC104 radio station. While the outside felt like a mini car show, the inside was busting at the seams with all the cars, trucks and bikes on display in addition to the numerous interactive displays. It was definitely one of the busiest shows to date!
Big Black from MTV’s “Fantasy Factory” was in the house and playing host to the day’s festivities! His signing lines at Sony’s booth and at the Monster Energy Zone were mad long, making him a show favorite. The Monster Energy Zone also had a meet and greet with actor Tiny Lester, better known as “Devo” in the Friday movies. He was literally chocking the crowd (jokingly, of course) and was often seen cruising around the show on his Monster Energy Edition beach cruiser. Guests also sipped on free samples of Monster Energy flavors and scoped out some insane B-Boy and MC battles.
Another crowd pleaser was UFC fighter Jon Fitch, who showed up to sign autographs and take pictures with fans at the UFC booth. Pirelli’s booth showed off their newest styles of tires, as well as their beautiful models that were more than happy to take pictures with fans. Sony’s booth was quite popular, offering a wide assortment of fun for visitors, such as gaming PS3 gaming stations, The Green Hornet’s “Black Beauty” and loads of new products.

The concert stage was another huge highlight of the show and featured performances by L.I.V.E., The Cartel, Rebel Gang, REJ3CTZ, Kia Shine and Waka Flocka. The REJ3CTZ hyped the crowd when the performed their hit single, “Cat Daddy,” but it was Waka who shut it all down as soon as he grabbed the mic. The crowd literally followed him when he went to sign autographs at “The DUB Magazine Project” booth, which made for one ass long line! It was so unreal that at one point, people knew they didn’t have a chance to get a picture with him, but stuck around just to get a glimpse of him up close.
The Ocean City stop of the 2011 DUB Show Tour was off the hook, but none of it would have been possible without the support of the fans, car clubs and our wonderful Sponsors. Thanks to the following Sponsors for making the show one of our best yet: Monster Energy, Ford, Pirelli, Sony, Kawasaki, Mobil 1, UFC, “The DUB Magazine Project,” MTV2, TIS, Dropstars and DUB Garage.
