RECAP: 2012 DUB Show - Los Angeles

So. Cal received a double dose of the 2012 Monster Energy DUB Show Tour with our Los Angeles stop on Sunday, August 26 at the LA Convention Center. Held from 12-6 PM, it was one of this year’s best shows, and definitely one of the most memorable ones held at the LA Convention Center where it’s been for several years. It was a jam-packed show with some of the region’s best cars from loads of our favorite car clubs, with a variety of interactive booths and displays, providing fans with a fun-filled day, DUB style!

Everybody brought their “A” game, making it hard for the judges to pick the show’s winners. Taking home “Best Harley of Show” was El Loco, while Nokturnal CC was given the prestigious award of “Best Car Club.” Nokturnal CC’s Hector Esquivel took home “Best of Show,” while “Best Lowrider” went to former DUB cover car, Elite CC’s ’63 Impala dubbed “El Rey.”

After guests feasted their eyes on all the hot rides, they then went on to have some fun at all the booths! The Harley-Davidson Custom Bike Shoot Out was a fan favorite, with the display filled with anxious eyes all day! Long lines formed to meet Playboy Playmate Jamie Edmondson, while the debut of their new Dyna Street Bob bike was the talk of the show.

UFC fighters in the bulding included Diego “The Dream” Sanchez, Joey “The Mexicutioner” Beltran and Dominick Cruz, while the DUB Ink Exhibit showcased work from the talented ink master Fernie Andrade. The Pioneer MIXTRAX exhibit was booming with sound as guests checked out the club-caliber in-car audio system.

The Monster Zone provided lots of free beverage samples and eye-candy with the Monster Girls signing autographs and taking pictures with showgoers, while Kawasaki’s both showcased their sickest bikes, including the Vulcan Vaquero and ZX10. Pirelli showed off their newest tire styles, while the TIS and Dropstars Showcase displayed all the latest wheels that awed fans.

LA’s Boost Mobile Concert Series powered by LG featured a huge lineup, providing lots of new bangin’ music. Starting things off were: Joe Beast, Troublesome and Cam-Capone, Smooth Hustle Music, Menace, Genasis, Da Gogettas, Young West, N.0.4., Blake Carrington, Suge Gotti, Fudd Rukus, Money Back, Kia Shine, Problem, 4Count, Ranger$, Chi-Towns Finest, Finatticz and Six Reasons.

After the stage was warmed up and the fans were hyped, it was time to take things to another level with the main performances, which included: Nipsey Hussle, YG, Joe Moses, Ca$h Out, Travis Porter, French Montana, Akon and a special surprise performance by Tyga! The LA stop also included a few special guests show showed up for the day’s festivities, including Kid Ink, The Rej3ctz, and Ben J of the New Boyz!

We can’t wait until the expansion of the LA Convention Center is completed so that next year’s show will be busting at the seams! Thanks to all the car clubs, exhibitors, performers and fans for the support, but a huge thank you goes out to all our sponsors: Monster Enegery, Boost Mobile, Pirelli, Harley-Davidson, UFC, Sony, Mobil 1, Kawasaki, “The DUB Magazine Project,” “DUB Latino” on Mun2, WSS, TIS, Dropstars, Monster Energy Off-Road Edition, DUB Garage, MOTIV, and Gear.
