On August 31st, more than 12,000 runners in L.A. hit the streets near the Coliseum for the Nike+ Human Race—the largest one-day running event that spanned multiple continents and covered 25 cities, including New York, Paris, Chicago, London and Madrid. L.A. was the last city to host its race and the only city that actually sold out, as registrants couldn’t resist a bangin’ performance by Kanye West and Common that ended the event.

Hot Wheels takes to the streets with its 40th anniversary cross-country road trip from Mattel’s headquarters in El Segundo, California all the way to Watkins Glen, New York (home to American road racing) and making stops along the way. At each of the stops, Hot Wheels will host free events for visitors, such as life-size Hot Wheels cars, historic Hot Wheels memorabilia, booths for kids to create custom Hot Wheels driver licenses, Hot Wheels die-cast races, autograph sessions with designers and many more family-friendly activities.

The Tony Hawk Foundation raised $575,000 to help develop public skateparks across the nation, including $50,000 for the Manhattan Bridge Skatepark in NY, at its signature Stand Up For Skateparks fundraiser held at the Ross Lower School campus in Bridgehampton, NY.
