KEN BLOCK’S “HOONIPIGASUS” 1,400-HP PORSCHE 911 FOR PIKES PEAK

Famed Rally Racer and DUB star is at it again, but this time in a vintage Porsche 911 that he’ll race up Pikes Peak. The 1,400p-hp AWD 911 called “Hoonipigasus” is a sight to behold, with its bold pink wrap with white graphics that was built by BBi Autosport for this year’s famed Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.

The all-new livery was created by renowned artist Trouble Andrew (aka Guccighost) and pays homage to the 1971 Porsche 917/20 “Pink Pig.” The Porsche was made to handle and enhance Block’s personal driving style, including a transmission tunnel that’s known as the “Chorizo Tunnel,” which goes from shoulder height all the way down to the front axle for a lower center of gravity (which will help with handling and performance). The 2,200-lb custom Porsche also has a GPS height-adjusted suspension and tons of other custom mods to help Block attempt a big win with the first-ever mid-engine, AWD, 4.0-liter, twin-turbo flat-six 911.
The Porsche took about 10 years to perfect, back when BBi Autosports first thought up the idea to build a vintage Porsche race car. Now that Block is with team Audi (after leaving his partnership with Ford of 11 years last year), it was the perfect time to let Hoonipigasus fly with one of the best racers behind the wheel. Despite having raced at Pikes Peak before (which didn’t turn out to be successful), this will be Block’s first real go at the most legendary hill climb race on the planet. Known as “The Race to the Clouds,” the race is scheduled for June 26 and is a 12.42-mile course with 56 turns and elevation gains of 4,725 feet. The finish line sits at 14,115 feet above sea level.
