Scott Kanemura’s unique 1993 Toyota 4Runner “5150 Lux” is an East meets West automotive fusion. Built on a Japanese platform, Scott’s 4Runner melds the American car scene’s different popular genres of the 1990s, 2000s, and 2010s.
Clearly seen in 5150 Lux are the influences of Import Drag Racing, Mini Truck, Lowrider, and JDM automotive scenes.
This build features a drag race tube frame chassis with a shortened rear end and 4-link suspension, bored and stroked Toyota in-line 6-cylinder 3.4-liter turbocharged 2JZ motor, a custom interior with a unique double floor system for style and aerodynamic advantages, Volk Racing wheels, and Toyo Proxes TQ tires.
