The Dalmore’s Luminary Series No. 2: The Rare Scotch Whiskey

Unveiling a masterpiece in both liquid and form, The Dalmore unveils The Rare, the second release in their Luminary Series. This exceptional offering is a collaboration between Master Whisky Maker Gregg Glass and the visionary Melodie Leung, director of Zaha Hadid Architects. The centerpiece is a 49-year-old single malt nestled within a custom decanter, further elevated by a flowing copper glass sculpture. This sculpture symbolizes the layers of flavor developed during the whisky’s extended aging process. The Rare itself is a sensory journey, offering aromas of roasted chestnuts and pears that transition to a palate of Madagascan vanilla and rich berry fruits, culminating in a smoky finish of coffee and almonds. But true exclusivity lies in its rarity – only three bottles and two sculptures exist, with just one set available for purchase. This coveted prize will be auctioned by Sotheby’s in May 2024, with proceeds benefiting the V&A Dundee museum.
